What is Acord?

The incidence of cancer is rising rapidly in the Asia Pacific region. This has made it necessary to promptly run well designed and conducted trials which can produce effective new treatments for cancer victims.

To enforce this need, the Medical Oncology Group of Australia (MOGA), Clinical Oncological Society of Australia (COSA), American Association for Cancer Research and American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) have collaborated to form an intensive workshop known as ACORD (Australia and Asia Pacific Clinical Oncology Research Development Workshop).The ACORD workshop works to:- Teach good clinical trial design to junior clinical oncologists- Expose junior clinical oncologists to the full range of challenges they will face in a career of clinical research- Nourish junior oncologists into well-trained, experienced researchers that will drive upcoming cancer therapies into usable effective treatments in everyday medicine and patient care.
