VMC receives award from Minister of ICT Industry Development for E-Health

Earlier this week, Virtual Medical Centre accepted an award from Minister Brown of ICT Industry Development for qualifying as a State Finalist in the Secrets of IT Innovation competition in the category of E-Health.

The Secrets of Australian IT Innovation Competition selects Australia’s most innovative ICT companies and research organisations. The winners have the opportunity to present their innovative technologies to a global audience at major national and international ICT events.The competition is an initiative of the Committee for Marketing ICT of Australia, a committee made up of representatives of State and Territory Governments, Austrade, Invest Australia, Department of Communications IT and the Arts (DCITA) and industry associations. The competition is managed by an executive committee made up of representatives from DCITA, Austrade and Invest Australia in consultation with participating State and Territory Governments.The competition has strong Government support with significant financial support provided by the Department of Education, Science and Training (DEST) and the Department of Industry, Tourism and Resources (DITR) through the Innovation Access Program, an initiative of Backing Australia’s Ability and the Department of Communications IT and the Arts.The judging process was vigorous and VMC was proud of its award but hope to win the competition next year!(Please see the attachment above for a photo of Virtual Medical Centre accepting the award.
