The Victorian Government will launch a statewide advertising campaign aimed at encouraging more women to undergo regular pap smear screenings.

The campaign will use radio and television advertisements to drive home the message.Health Minister Bronwyn Pike says although more than 60 per cent of women are screened on a regular basis, many are not being tested.”The current screening rate in Victoria is 64 per cent which is the third-highest rate in Australia,” she said.”That means there is room for improvement, people need to go more regularly, every two years, and that will help us to further reduce the rate of cervical cancer.”(Source: ABC News: July 2004)
