An international study including 31 states and provinces from seven countries has found banning smoking in hospitality venues has no impact on the businesses’ profits.

Queensland Cancer Fund spokesman Paul Turner says the Queensland Government should take notice of the study and extend smoke free zones beyond restaurants.Workers in pubs nightclubs, and casinos should also be protected by the legislation he says. ‘The problem is that they’re sacrificing their health to sustain their own incomes and to sustain and support their families,’ he said. ‘Hospitality workers in Queensland are being treated like second class citizens.'(Source: ABC Online)
