John Hughes’ Big Walk for Breast Cancer – Sunday 20th October 2002

October is recognised internationally as Breast Cancer Month. This year, Sunday 20th October is John Hughes’ Big Walk – a non-competitive walk to raise funds for breast cancer research and support for women diagnosed with the disease in WA.

People are encouraged to join friends, family and colleagues to walk to 18 km route (or part thereof) from Perth to Fremantle. Refreshment stations will be situated at regular intervals to provide water, sunscreen, toilet facilities, rest areas and first-aid.

All registered walkers will be in the running to win a new Hyundai Accent valued at $15,000. There will be a special draw for registered walkers who raise over $50 in sponsorship.
