3,900 online health consumers, 1,000 community pharmacists, 750 general practitioners and 1,650 medical specialists were the basis of the Study conducted in September and October 2002.

The Study revealed that the second-most used source of health information by online health consumers is an online medical site where they can source information themselves.

Most medical practitioners now have Internet access. The study found that 95% of both general practitioners and specialists had access to the Internet. The Study also found that more pharmacists are using the Internet in 2002 than in 2001. The percentage of pharmacists with Internet/web access at home or work has increased to 95%, with 35% of pharmacists regularly accessing the Internet from the pharmacy.
