Does smoking reduce the pleasure you get from rewards?
Anhedonia is defined as decreased pleasure from rewards. It occurs in several psychiatric disorders such as depression, drug abuse, schizophrenia, and alexithymia.
Researchers at the Universities of Vermont (USA) and Geneva (Switzerland) are conducting a new study on anhedonia. The aim of this study is to measure and compare the presence and degree of anhedonia in healthy people and in people with addictions, in particular tobacco addiction. This study is funded by the U.S. National Institute of Health. As part of the study, these researchers would like to ask you to answer an online questionnaire on rewarding events. Answering will take 20 minutes and can be fun! The study organisers would greatly appreciate your help. To participate, click here.
