Colombian doctors removed a massive 26-pound (approximately 13Kg) cancerous tumour from a 15-year-old girl.

Medical officials said the girl was taken to hospital by her parents, a poor peasant and a housewife form northern Cesar Province who believed she was pregnant.

The 15-year-old was suffering form abdominal pains, respiratory problems and vomiting.

After a three-hour surgery Thursday, doctors removed the tumour and the girl’s right ovary.

“I have removed many tumours but I was surprised by the dimensions of this one,” said Rafael Zabaleta, oncologist at Rosario Pumarejo Hospital in the city of Valledupar who performed the surgery.

Doctors said the girl has a life expectancy of between 12 and 36 more months because the cancer has spread to other parts of her body.
