Indication

FGF is used to prevent and treat iron deficiency anaemia in pregnancy and megaloblastic anaemia associated with folate deficiency.

Action

Iron is an essential trace element that is required for the formation of haemoglobin and myoglobin important components of the blood. FGF tablets also contain a sufficient amount of folic acid to prevent the development of folate deficiency during pregnancy.

Dose advice

The usual recommended dose for non-pregnant and pregnant adults is one tablet once a day (FGF is safe to give during pregnancy and lactation).
