Maintenance treatment in persistent asthma Protection against exercise induced asthma

Action

Act by inhibiting release of inflammatory mediators

Dose advice

MDI: 5-10mg 3 or 4 times daily, or 15 minutes before exercise. May be given twice daily in maintenance up to 20mg/dose. May be increased in severe cases or during periods of risk up to 6-8 times dailyDPI: Child>7 years: 20mg (1 capsule) 3 or 4 times daily, or 15 minutes before exercise May be increased in severe cases or during periods of risk up to 6-8 times dailyNeb: 20mg (1 ampoule) 3 or 4 times daily. Increased in severe cases up to 5-6 times dailyPregnancy: Safe to use. Lactation: Safe to use
