Dr Andrew Day discusses Virtual Gastro Centre.

Transcript

Hello, my name is Andrew Day, Paediatric Gastroenterologist, based in Sydney, Australia. I work at the Children’s Hospital and at the University of NSW. I’m also the head of my Department of Gastroenterology at Sydney Children’s Hospital, and have many roles, including looking after inpatients, seeing children in my outpatient clinics, performing endoscopy procedures, teaching and running my research team.

I was delighted to have the opportunity to join the Editorial Advisory Board of the Virtual Gastro Centre two years ago. I feel strongly that internet-based initiatives such as this are important in ensuring clear and accurate distribution of information to medical practitioners and also to the public.

In these days of information and easy access to thousands of sources of information, it is important to be able to access accurate and sensible info and to be able to get a distillation of information from various sites.

I’m very pleased to be associated with the Virtual Gastro Centre and look forward to an ongoing contribution in the future.

Thank you very much for your time and have a great day.
