The watch continues at all major Australian airports for any likely cases of SARS. Medical officers are checking anyone who arrives with symptoms, including a high temperature.

The watch continues at all major Australian airports for any likely cases of SARS.Medical officers are checking anyone who arrives with symptoms, including a high temperature.South Australian Health Minister Lea Stevens says two people recently admitted to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with suspected SARS symptoms are responding well to treatment.”Both of those patients are doing very well, they no longer have a fever and the Royal Adelaide is saying that it is now very, very unlikely they have SARS but their taking no chances.”A top medical expert in Queensland says it is inevitable SARS cases will be found in Australia.At the moment, only one person is under investigation, a nine-year-old boy in New South Wales.Meanwhile, Victorian police are probing the theft of a quantity of drugs used in the treatment of SARS.It is understood the drugs are valued at around $300,000 and were taken from a shipment at Melbourne docks.(Source: ABC, Monday, April 28, 2003. 10:18am (AEST))
