Expanding its leadership role in multislice CT with clinically proven technology for non-invasive cardiac imaging, Toshiba America Medical Systems Inc. (TAMS) recently demonstrated its advanced Aquilion(TM) 32 CFX utilizing the 64-row Quantum detector cardiac computed tomography (CT) technology at the 5th International Conference on Cardiac CT held in Nuremberg, Germany, on July 23-24, 2004. Presented by Joao Lima, M.D., Department of Medicine and Radiology, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, the demonstration highlighted case studies and clinical images of coronary plaque and stenosis using Toshiba’s Aquilion 32 CFX scanner.

Additionally, its low-contrast 64-row Quantum detector is instrumental in visualizing soft plaque, measuring coronary stenosis, planning quantitative treatment and calculation of plaque burden.
