Rare pancreatic tumor characterized

Italian researchers have published comprehensive and up-to-date information on nonfunctioning pancreatic endocrine tumors (NFPT), a rare and little-studied neoplasm of the islet cells. They analyzed data on all 184 patients with NFPT treated in three Italian hospitals over the last 15 years. The diagnosis was confirmed histologically using conventional and immunohistochemical techniques.
