Important Changes to the Medicare Arrangements for Diagnostic Imagining and Radiation Oncology ServicesThere are important changes to the Medicare arrangements in relation to diagnostic imaging and radiation oncology services as a result of the recent passing of legislation to amend the Health Insurance Act 1973.The changes are contained in the Health Insurance Amendment (Diagnostic Imaging, Radiation Oncology and other Measures) Act 2003, which was enacted on 15 April 2003.Details of the changes together with what you may need to do to comply with them may be found on the Department of Health and Ageing’s website at www.diagnosticimaging.health.gov.au under ‘What’s New”.(Source: RACP, 23 June 2003)
