Year seven students in New South Wales will be offered free Hepatitis B vaccinations as part of a revamped program of inoculations for high school students.The Meningococcal C vaccination program will now also include shots for tetanus, diphtheria and whooping cough.The Health Minister, Morris Iemma, says the program is the most comprehensive in Australia and the first in the world to address an adolescent whooping cough epidemic.He says the state is currently experiencing a surge in the number of teenagers reporting with the condition.(Source: ABC Health News, May 2004)
