Cancer Council NSW Launches New Tools

Cancer Answers easy-to-access and reliable information about cancer. Many cancer patients report that finding reliable and relevant information about cancer can be overwhelming, especially during the stressful period immediately following their diagnosis.

That’s why The Cancer Council NSW has developed Cancer Answers, an on-line guide to cancer. Cancer Answers contains more than 160 linked questions and answers about going through the experience of cancer everything from diagnosis, to treatment and care. Launched in February 2004, already around 250 people are visiting each week.Cancer Answers was developed in consultation with Cancer Helpline oncology nurses, consumers and cancer experts. It aims to provide patients with useful and supportive information and complements the care and medical advice that health professionals provide in a clinical setting. Cancer Answers is just one of a range of support services available from the Cancer Council, which also includes:- Cancer Helpline: 13 11 20 – The Support and Information Pack; a free pack that contains sources of practical and emotional support throughout NSW, including local support groups. – Cancer Council Connect: a one-to-one peer support program for anyone diagnosed with breast, bowel or prostate cancer.You can find out more from this Virtualcancercentre.com location by clicking on her www.cancercouncil.com.au or call the Cancer Helpline on 13 11 20.
