Beauty Workshops for Cancer Patients

Health experts say the morale of patients improves if they are encouraged to take care of their appearance.

The Royal Cornwall Hospital in Treliske and St. Michael’s Hospital in Hayle, England are offering women suffering from cancer to take part in beauty workshops.

Beauticians from salons and clinics are giving their time free of charge and will take patients through a 12-step skin care and make-up routine. Patients will be given professional advice and guidance on how to cope with the physical side-effects of their treatment including coping with hair-loss.

Medical staff believe that when patients feel good about their appearance, it lifts their morale.
