Alice Springs faces pancreatic health woes
The Member for MacDonnell has warned that pancreatitis could become a health crisis as significant as renal failure in the Northern Territory. John Elferink told the NT Parliament that inflammation of the pancreas has become a major concern in Alice Springs. He told the chamber staff at Alice Springs Hospital see a link between pancreatic problems and the increasing use of a type of fortified wine nick-named “monkey’s blood”.
