Naproxen is used to relieve pain and inflammation in
-Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis
It is also used in the treatment of
-Certain types of abnormal vaginal bleeding
Naproxen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). NSAIDs relieve pain and inflammation by inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandins, which have an important involvement in the production of inflammation, pain and fever in the body
The usual dose of a controlled release formulation of Naproxen is 750â??1000 mg every 24 hours.
The maximum recommended daily dose is 1250 mg daily
Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis
10â??15 mg/kg daily in 2 divided doses.
The initial recommended dose is 500 mg
This is followed by 250 mg every 6â??8 hours as required.
The initial recommended dose is 750 mg initially
This is followed an additional 250â??500 mg after a time period of at least 1 hour if required.

-High blood pressure
-Loss of appetite
