Indication

Mylanta is an antacid that is used to relieve the symptoms of excess stomach acid and to promote healing of duodenal ulcers. It can be used to prevent flatulence and to relieve the symptoms of hiatus hernia.

Action

Mylanta acts by neutralising the excess acid produced in the stomach

Dose advice

Duodenal ulcer. 30 ml or 6 tablets should be taken one and three hours after each meal. This dose should also be taken at bedtimeGastro-oesophageal reflux disease10 to 15 ml or 2-3 tablets taken every two hours for two daysThis should be followed by 5 to 10 ml or 1-2 tablets three to four times dailyTablets should be taken between meals and at bedtime
