Generic Name: Methylphenidate hydrochloride
Product Name: Lorentin

Indication

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder

Action

Proposed mode of action of psychostimulants in ADHD is enhancement of dopaminergic and noradrenergic neurotransmission.

Dose advice

Methylphenidate should be used cautiously in patients with hypertension. Blood pressure should be monitored at appropriate intervals in all patients taking methylphenidate, especially in those with hypertension.
