Product Name: Difflam Sugar-free Lozenges

Indication

Difflam Sugar-Free Lozenges have anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial effect for temporarily pain relief due to tonsillitis (inflammation of tonsils), sore throat, mouth ulcers, local pain following mouth or throat surgery and pain after dental procedures. It is available in five different flavors (Raspberry, Eucalyptus and Menthol, Doublemint, Honey and Lemon, Orange) which all contain the same active ingredients in the same strength which provide the same therapeutic effects.

Your doctor may have prescribed Difflam Sugar-Free Lozenges for you for another reason, please ask your doctor why this medication has been prescribed for you if you are unsure.

Action

Difflam Sugar-Free Lozenges contains two active ingredients which contribute to the symptomatic pain relief of the oral cavity.

Benzydamine Hydrochloride provide the anti-inflammatory and pain relieving effect of the lozenges while Cetylpyridinium Chloride has an antiseptic properties which prevent any further complication associated with bacterial or fungal growth.

Dose advice

In adults and children over 6 years of age: Suck one lozenges when required every one to two hours. Each lozenges will work up to three hours.

Do not exceed 12 lozenges a day.


Do not take Difflam Sugar-Free Lozenges continuously for more than seven days.

Common side effects

All medications have side effects, most of them are temporary or minor, do seek your doctor advise if you are concerned of these side effects.

  • Lacking or deficient of physical sensation of the mouth (oral numbness)
  • Occasional burning or stinging sensation

Uncommon side effects

The side effects below occurred in less than 1% of the population who have used Difflam Sugar-Free Lozenges, these are known as the uncommon side effects. However, stop using this medication and seek medical attention immediately if you experienced the side effects stated below.

  • An allergic reaction towards Difflam Sugar-Free Lozenges such as difficulty in breathing, rash or swollen of the lips or mouth
  • Dryness or thirst
  • Warm feeling of the mouth
  • Changed in sense of taste
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Dizziness
  • Headache
  • Drowsiness
