Indication
Byetta is used to lower and control blood sugar levels for diabetes type 2 patients.
Action
Byetta helps to control your blood sugar level by ensuring the correct amount of insulin is in the blood at the correct time.
Dose advice
Use in Pregnancy: Byetta is classified as ADEC pregnancy category C, this means that it may produce harmful effects on the foetus without causing malformations and that these effects maybe reversible.Use in Lactation: It is not known whether Byetta passes into breast milk. Please speak to doctor before using Byetta while breastfeeding.Storage: Prior to use, Byetta should be stored in the fridge. After the first use, the Byetta pen can be kept at 2-25oC but must be kept dry and it must be thrown away in 30 days. Also, the pen is not to be stored with a needle attached.Refer to product information for Byetta Pen usage and administration instructions.

Common side effects
Byetta commonly causes nausea (52%), vomiting (19%), diarrhoea (13%) and gastric discomfort (6%). It can also cause hypoglycemia (27%), pain or redness at injection site (6%) may also be experienced.
Uncommon side effects
These effects are experienced by less than 0.1% of the population. Do not be alarmed by the extensive list. If your experience any of the adverse effects listed, you should go see your doctor.
