Generic Name: Bendrofluazide
Product Name: Aprinox

Bendrofluazide is used for the treatment of oedema (swelling of the body) due to heart failure, liver disease, drugs, the menstrual cycle and other causes. It is also used to treat mild to moderate cases of high blood pressure.

Bendrofluazide is a diuretic that reduces the reabsorption of fluid and salt in the kidneys resulting in increased loss of salt and water from the body. In people who are oedematous (have extra unnecessary fluid in their body) Bendrofluazide will remove the fluid. By causing water and salt loss Bendrofluazide also helps to decrease the blood pressure.
