Indication

Treats the symptoms of common colds and flu including fever, runny or blocked nose, pain and allergy symptoms.

Action

There are four components within Action Cold and Flu Effervescent tablets each with target the symptoms of a cold or flu. It contains-Asprin which treat fever, pain and inflammation.-Chlorpheriramine maleate which is an antihistamine and treats allergy type symptoms.-Phenylephrine tartrate which is a nasal decongestant. It helps clear and dry a blocked nose and runny nose.-Ascorbic acid –the body is low on this during infection

Dose advice

-Adults (>12 years) -2 tablets every 4 hours. Up to 8 tablets daily.-Tablets must be dissolved in glass of water before taking. -May be dangerous to take of extended period of time –consult you’re your doctor -Consult your doctor before using if you are pregnant or suffer for any of the following conditions -glaucoma -asthma -diabetes -thyroid disease -epilepsy -difficulty urinating -stomach or duodenal ulcers -kideny or liver disease -high bloold pressure -irregular heart rhythms -taking MAOI’s (a type of antidepressant)

Common side effects

-Drowsiness –common, do not operate heavy machinery or drive if feeling drowsy -Nausea, vomiting, gastric upset, tiredness, diarrohea, constipation, tremor, high blood pressure, difficulty urinating. Seek medical advice if any of the above are suspected.

Uncommon side effects

Allergic reactions may occur and include skin reaction, anaphylactic shock and spasm of the respiratory tract and blood reactions. Seek medical advice immediately if any of the above are suspected.
