About Brain Foundation
The Brain Foundation is Australia’s leading brain health charity, saving lives through neurological research. Established in 1970 by members of the Australian Association of Neurologists and the Neurosurgical Society of Australasia, the Foundation’s aim is to reduce the incidence and impact of disorders of the brain, spinal cord and nervous system through the provision of support, community education and research.
Vision and Mission
Funding brain research throughout Australia for earlier diagnoses and improved more effective and efficient treatments to enable sufferers to engage in normal lifestyles.
Programs and Services
The Brain Foundation’s main aim is to raise funds from community donations for research. We provide a competitive arena for grant applications and fund the best from institutions all around Australia. Our programs include:
- Raising awareness of brain disorders via our website and social media
- Generating and utilising funds for national research
- Supporting international Brain Awareness week
