Promensil Vitality

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Generic Name: Red clover isoflavones, calcium, vitamin D (cholecalciferol)
Product Name: Promensil Vitality

Indication of Promensil Vitality

Promensil Vitality may be used by women who are experiencing or have passed menopause

During menopause, Promensil Vitality may relieve the frequency and severity of hot flushes and night sweats.  After menopause, naturally-occurring oestrogen levels decline, so heart and bone health can be more difficult to maintain.

Promensil Vitality contains calcium and vitamin D3Vitamin D helps calcium absorption, and a diet deficient in calcium can lead to osteoporosis in later life.

There are also lower strength and double strength products available.

Your doctor will be able to advise if this product is suitable for you.

Action of Promensil Vitality

Studies have shown that in cultures that have diets with an abundance of isoflavones (a type of phyto-oestrogen) fewer menopausal symptoms are experienced by women.

Isoflavones, the active ingredient in Promensil, are naturally occurring plant oestrogens found mainly in legumes such as red clover, chickpeas, beans and lentils. Promensil is made specifically from red clover which contains all four principal types of dietary isoflavones, unlike many other legumes. The isoflavones in Promensil can complement the body’s own oestrogen levels, which typically decline around menopause, and through this may help reduce menopause symptoms.

Promensil Vitality also contains calcium and vitamin D3, both of which are important for bone health. Calcium provides assistance in building and maintaining strong bones.  After the age of 40, calcium absorption in women starts to decrease.

Dose advice of Promensil Vitality

Dose information

The recommended dose is one to two tablets daily, containing 40 mg of red clover isoflavones, 1,278 mg of calcium carbonate (equivalent to 500 mg elemental calcium) and 3.5 micrograms of vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol).

There are two other formulations of Promensil without calcium or vitamin D available: one containing 40 mg red clover isoflavones (Promensil Menopause), and one containing 80 mg red clover isoflavones (Promensil Menopause Double Strength).

Your doctor will be able to determine which formulation is best for you. Always read the label. If you have any queries about the correct way to use Promensil Vitality, speak with your doctor. Individual results may vary.
